GBRC Global Resource Corp. Wins Popular Science's 'Best of What's New' Award

Global Resource Corp. Wins Popular Science's 'Best of What's New' AwardPR Newswire "US Press Releases "
WEST BERLIN, N.J., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Resource Corporation (OTC: GBRC.PK) (http://www.globalresourcecorp.com) has been awarded Popular Science magazine's 'Best of What's New' Award in the Green Tech category (http://www.popsci.com/popsci/flat/bown/2007/green/item_67.html) for the company's HAWK 10 recycler, a zero-emission energy conversion system that produces more energy than it consumes from solid waste materials. The pollutant-free technology uses microwave frequencies to extract petroleum and gas from almost any natural or man-made material, in a closed-loop process. Popular Science also named Frank Pringle (http://www.popsci.com/popsci/flat/bown/2007/innovator_2.html), CEO of Global Resource Corporation, an 'Innovator of the Year' in Green Tech for bringing the environmentally friendly HAWK 10 technology to market.
"We're thankful that the editors of Popular Science chose to recognize our HAWK 10 as one of the year's breakthrough technologies, citing its potential to help America find new sources of energy, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil," Pringle says. "This is the latest in a string of honors we've received from major publications, including Time magazine, which awarded the HAWK 10 as one of the top 'Inventions of the Year.'" Pringle also noted that in July of 2007, U.S. Department of Energy profiled Global Resource and its microwave technology for oil shale recovery as a resource for making the U.S. energy independent. Being selected as one of only twenty seven companies, some of them in the Fortune 100, further validates Global Resource's capabilities for energy recovery.
Popular Science cited the HAWK 10 for its ability to reduce waste volume by 65 percent, and produce oil and gas without emitting environmentally hazardous gases. The publication also recognized Pringle's role in discovering, developing, and commercializing the HAWK 10 technology, which uses "tuned microwaves" to crack molecular chains in a variety of materials, releasing trapped hydrocarbons to generate energy. These materials include coal, oil shale, tar sands, tires, PCBs, and heavy oil remaining in capped oil wells.
ABOUT Global Resource Corp.
Global Resource Corp. has a patent pending process that allows for removal of oil and alternative petroleum products at very low cost from various resources, including shale deposits, tar sands, waste oil streams and bituminous coal with significantly greater yields and lower costs than are available utilizing existing known technologies. The process uses specific frequencies of microwave radiation to extract oils and alternative petroleum products from secondary raw materials, and is expected to dramatically reduce the cost for oil and gas recovery from a variety of unconventional hydrocarbon resources. GBRC's technology will not only be developed to extract oil from shale, but from depleted oil fields in the US and elsewhere, many of which still contain more than half of the hydrocarbons originally in these fields, because the residual hydrocarbons are too viscous to extract with conventional technology.
