BluePoint Energy Announces Approval to Participate in PJM's Emergency Load Response ProgramsBusiness Wire "US Press Releases "
EL DORADO HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Chapeau, Inc. d/b/a BluePoint Energy (OTCBB:CPEU) announced today that it has received membership approval to participate in PJM Interconnection's Emergency Load Response Programs as a Curtailment Service Provider. PJM coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity through all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. This service area has a population of approximately 51 million and a peak demand of approximately 144,000 megawatts.
BluePoint Energy's Demand Response Asset Aggregation Program (D-RAAP(TM)) is not only a major solution provider available to over 83% of California's population but is now available to the nearly 51 million people in PJM Interconnection's large and dynamic service region.
PJM Interconnection administers demand response markets that provide financial incentives for end-use customers to reduce their electricity use either during an emergency event or when locational marginal prices (LMPs) are high on the PJM system. As a clean energy management company and as a demand response Curtailment Service Provider, BluePoint Energy will act on behalf of end-use customers who wish to participate in PJM market opportunities.
Guy A. Archbold, Chief Executive Officer of BluePoint Energy, stated, "We are of course very pleased to announce BluePoint Energy's first of several energy partnerships for demand response initiatives on the East Coast. BluePoint is rapidly establishing itself nationally as a major solution provider in the demand response market."
Mr. Archbold continued, "With the solution provided by our Demand Response Asset Aggregation Program (D-RAAP(TM)), we are looking forward to becoming one of the few PJM providers with the proven capabilities to participate in PJM's stringent Synchronized Reserve Demand Response Market as well as the other Emergency Load Response programs offered by PJM."
Mr. Archbold concluded, "BluePoint Energy's emergence into the East Coast demand response market, marks yet another milestone in BluePoint's continuing efforts to develop clean, reliable and environmentally responsible solutions to meet today's critical energy demand needs. Our Demand Response Asset Aggregation Program (D-RAAP(TM)) solution creates "virtual power plants" by providing centralized communication and dispatch control for a technological network of generation assets and building management systems, managed by our proprietary, Internet-based GenView(TM) microprocessor control technology. Furthermore, we expect to announce shortly a strategic marketing partner with the breadth to dramatically affect our abilities to deliver significant and much needed demand response fulfillment capabilities, as measured in megawatts, on behalf of BluePoint Energy to those utilities and ISOs with whom we have reached and will reach agreement."
